CAST architects is a recent re-branding of the practice nick stickland architects in recognition of the collective efforts of individuals within the practice and our core values of Community Art and Sustainable Technology. The practice was formed in 2003 by Nick Stickland and has grown from staple work designing and detailing high quality one off houses to carrying out larger projects such as the recent award winning refurbishment and rebuilding of The Savoy holiday village. We are currently looking at projects in London, Surrey, Isle of Wight, Wiltshire and Switzerland. We do not specialise in any particular field of architectural practice, in fact we are enthused by a good eclectic mix of work, which help to broaden our thoughts and skills. Our varied projects and locations to date have given us experience with many different local authorities and we have achieved a good success rate in planning owing to our detailed analysis of the site and context, together with understanding local policy. Our experiences have also given us a good understanding of both the personal and commercial aspirations of our clients and we have found that we can produce specific architectural responses both to meet those needs of our clients and importantly those of the site.

We are a gathering of individuals who support each other, and it is the people in this collective who are the focus. We prioritise personal development as an investment in our collective future. The spirit of collaboration extends to our external working relationships. In our works, process is our focus. Whether manifest in the emergence of the brief, the analysis of the site or in development of working relationships; here in lies the success of the architectural project. We will continuously refine and refresh the processes by which we communicate, create & deliver. We believe that a flexible approach to working frees us to tackle new concepts and, that this flexibility is only won by having a structured core. Our support core combines systems of design & risk management to pastoral activity, research, administration and finance. Above all, We take joy in making bespoke design responses to any given situation. As for us, process is product.
